By Debbie Barth With families being stretched all over the U.S. and in different countries, people are realizing the advantages of communication via web conference rooms. Web Cams have been around for years now and have certainly closed the communication gap and made gatherings on special occasions more enjoyable for those unable to be “home for the holidays”. But even webcams have certain drawbacks with the amount of participation that is possible. Now there are state-of-the-art web conference rooms allowing unlimited participation, and enabling even the largest of families to interact with each other on those very special occasions. Web conference rooms are being used for: > Planning Birthdays Parties-Reunions-Anniversary Celebrations-Retirement Parties > Getting together to share pictures of the new baby, new house, new pooch > Mother’s Day celebrations > Staying connected with service men and women all in different countries. > Staying connected in a long-distance romance > Impromptu meetings in emergency situations Web Conference rooms can offer these features: > Limited to unlimited seating (participation) > Audio recording (especially great for planning parties, delegating responsibilities, etc.) > Different moderator modes for family presentations (personal websites, pictures, etc) > Whiteboards for illustrations (kids will like this) > Webcams that make it possible to show off the new baby to a live audience People are finally realizing that web conference rooms are not just for business meetings anymore. There are so many practical ways for families to take advantage of the features that web conference rooms have to offer; which cell phones, video e-mail (not actually in real time is it?), and chat rooms cannot offer. Finding the right web conference room for the family’s needs is another issue, however. Many companies offer web conference rooms and the price seems great at “first blush”. But one soon realizes that great price per month was for limited features, or more importantly, seating limitations. Some websites that one may visit gives the visitor all the information (and maybe more than they will ever need), but does not give price information until you have contacted them. Monthly rates can start as low as $19.95 and run as high as $235.00, depending on the company and your needs. While most companies are positioned for the small and corporate monthly accounts, some are now targeting the family market as well. This writer suggests that families find a company that will offer a low rate per event, and that includes “all the bells and whistles”, including an unlimited attendees feature. Although the right company may be hard to find, it may well be worth it for that next family gathering “away from home”. The Healing Arts: 18 Things Healers Learn, #15; Connection Is the Gateway to Healing
By Russ Reina Of all the medicines used in the treatment of dis-ease, Hope is probably the most potent. The idea that there is some form of light at the end of the tunnel allows people to mobilize their reserves to move toward recovery. When there is no hope (once again, an idea), there is nothing to move toward. If you look at all the modalities of healing throughout the ages you will find slews of therapies, treatments, counseling, medicines and even procedures that, by todays standards, would never work. Yet, so many of them did on so many people regardless of all the facts that we know today. Even in spite of them! Somewhere within each modality that worked when all outward indications screamed otherwise, was hope. And if you were to trace each incident to its turning point you would find that the person seeking hope found it, in some form, through connection. Using the metaphor of a key and a lock again, the form that gives hope life is the individuals ability to, in some way, feel in synch, be a part of, or move in alignment with that which is offered; a connection. In essence, the person who can connect with what is offered is most likely to derive benefit from it. The funny thing is a person may embrace an option offered no matter how outlandish if he or she feels a connection with the person offering the option. Faith healers, clairvoyants, doctors, therapists and snake-oil salesman of all stripes have the power to inspire confidence in the routes they offer to wellness. Much of that power stems from their own belief in what they have to offer (as in their own connection to it). So often it is the perceived potency of the person doing the offering that turns the trick. If a practitioner is able to reach the part of the individual that only has the lack of hope standing between herself and wellness, she can then begin to mobilize her defenses. The force we call healing can use anything as a springboard. Sometimes, it will use a charlatan to ignite the fire of hope in someone that will then lead them to a real solution. This is not meant to encourage deceit; rather it is offered to illustrate the tremendous power that connection holds in the lives of those in need, and its efficacy as a tool for healers. It is of paramount importance that the healer understands this. The implication here is that use of connection to further healing is a sacred trust and deserves the respect of being held in that light. When you feel you can connect with a therapy, idea, healer, procedure, Higher Power, or whatever, youve taken the most pivotal step toward attaining wholeness. To know that whatever ails you can be accessed and opened by the right (or combination of right) key(s) is the light at the end of the tunnel. The biggest fear is of the unknown. Its important that you find some way to communicate that you are a real person and that whatever you will be doing from that moment on is a by-product of your connection with the person, the situation at hand, AND your connection with the therapies you can deliver. All it takes is a few words, a gesture, or an action to begin that phase of a healing relationship. Physical proximity and touch (where accepted) are hugely important tools. Recent studies have shown there is a measurable, energetic connection between human hearts in proximity to each other. When a person in distress is physically close to someone who has come to help, within a few minutes of their contact, you will see something very interesting: If each is hooked up to an EKG (electrocardiogram) machine, which records in wave form the electrical activity of their hearts, a reading of what is called entrainment occurs. This is where both peoples hearts establish a common rhythm. The important thing here is that the affected does not necessarily adopt the helpers rhythm, though it reaches out to meet the calmness and lack of distress evident therein. Together, they establish a common rhythm. Connection is all about a joining of forces. Just as certain chemical combinations in a pill will join forces with the chemical combinations in the blood to produce a favorable change in the overall chemistry of the patient, so, too, does the connection between people produce a blending of energies that complement each other, thereby effecting change. Rather than worrying about whether or not, or how, youre connecting with the person in your charge, keep focusing on the moment with that person, and deal with it honestly. The healing connection will take care of itself. Russ Reina shares over 35 years of experience in the healing arts through his web site http://mauihealingartist.com. Tummy Tuck Recovery
By Seth Miller A tummy tuck is a serious medical procedure that many men and women undergo each year. Your commitment to recovery and self-care will ensure that your body has the best chance for full recovery. Following your physicians instructions for post-operative care is the most important thing you can do for tummy tuck recovery. After your tummy tuck, you will rest in a recovery room, or you might even be admitted to the hospital overnight. In either case, your physician will be monitoring you as you come out of general anesthesia, or the local anesthesia wears off. You will have swelling in the abdominal area, and it will be sore. You will be given antibiotics and painkillers to assist in your tummy tuck recovery. It is important that you communicate any allergies you have and any other vitamins, herbs or medications you take so that the medications prescribed for your recovery will be right for you. As with all antibiotics, it is important to take the full course of medicine, as prescribed. Once you are released, most physicians will prescribe two to three days of bed rest. While they may seem like three very long days, it is crucial for your tummy tuck recovery that you follow your surgeons instructions. If possible, have a friend or family member stay with you for those initial days at home so that they can help you and keep an eye on you as you recover. You will receive personalized instructions on medication, compression, elevation and rest during this time. Your physician may even be able to give you advice on ways to minimize scarring. After your initial tummy tuck recovery, you will slowly be able to return to your normal activities. Your level of fitness will ultimately determine how long your tummy tuck recovery takes. For most people, it takes about 6 months for full recovery. After your initial weeks of recovery, your physician will prescribe a diet and exercise routine to follow for optimal tummy tuck recovery. At any time, it is important to call your surgeons office if you experience excessive pain, swelling or bleeding. The office will be able to make suggestions, or schedule an appointment if necessary. After your recovery is complete, scar tissue will continue to fade and your abdomen will have the flat, tight look that you desire. Great results are typically visible about 8 months after the operation. Fishing Sea Walls And Riprap
By Ronald Moody Tired of fishing with your GPS and finding nothing, tired of dragging that Carolina rig all over the bottom of the lake, tired of trying to come across that magic spot on the lake. Well you may be ready to try your hand at fishing rocky riprap or seawalls, those obvious shoreline, hugging features found on lakes, rivers and reservoirs across the county. These forms of cover can held bass throughout the year. These spots are simple to find and are easy to fish. Here are some tip for fishing riprap and seawalls. SEAWALL PATTERN: When theres a large surface mat of water hyacinths has blown up against a long stretch of seawall. When you tie on a Gary Yamamoto custem bait 3 inches fat baby craw, with a big bullet weight and begin picking the floating vegation apart. Fishing floating mats against a seawall or near the seawall, theres usually clean water underneath it all the way to the wall. This is a good spot do to combined horizontal cover with vertical and its open underneath. That crawl space will attract a lot of space. Flip right through the top of the mat and start at the deep edge. But dont forget to fish the seam between the mat and the seawall. GIVE THE SEAWALL A HUG: One technique is paralleling the wall with hard plastic lures and buzz baits. Also hugging the wall with a lizard, tube, worm and creature is just as important. One of the most important things if your pitching against the wall is to get the bait to fall as close to the wall If you are using a baitcaster you have to feed line out to allow the bait to fall up against the wall. If you are using a spinning reel its the same just dont close the bell until the bait hits the bottom. The other you can do is pitch the lure toward the wall and have it hit 1 to 3 inches before the wall, and then peel off line. It tends to fall more toward the wall. FALL PATTERN: When fall comes the bass are migrating into and out of creeks, so the riprap provides an easy, dependable way to intercept bass. Fishing in the fall the bass are moving shallow or coming back out and they have to go through bridges to do that. So riprap along bridges would be a prime pattern Some good lures for this would be a shad colored crank bait like Rebel Wee R or 5A and 6A Bombers to crank the rocks, also the bomber long A jerk bait is another good choice. Cast parallel to the rock line and concentrate on deflecting the lure as often as possible. The biggest key in the fall is repetitive casting, you ask why, because the bass have seen lures all summer. So its important to cast repetition to a good looking area like a point of the riprap or a tree or brush laying down along the riprap. PARALLEL PARKING FOR BASS: When it comes to bass fish there are not to many hard and fast rules but when you come across a seawall and lines of riprap, one rule rings come to mind. Take a casting angle that enables them to be paralleled with a lure. Another lure of choice for fishing seawalls and riprap or bulkheads are throwing a topwater and spinner baits in the morning, then a lipless crank bait or shallow diving crank bait later in the day. But regardless of the lure, always parallel them as much as possible and at least 45 degrees them, depending on the water depth and position the fish are in. Remember to put your lure as close to the wall as possible, or even bang it off the wall as you bring it back to the boat. RIPRAP ROADMAP: Riprap can be intimidating to some fisherman or woman. Whether it is the foundation of a bridge, current break or erosion control for a stretch of shoreline, riprap can look over whelming in some situations. You may have riprap two miles long and it all looks the same, so where do you start bass fishing. You got to understand what lies beneath the surface is not exactly the same. Its important to locate irregular features in an otherwise uniform line of riprap. So you look for visible things like logs, treetop or flotsam that has drifted against the rocks or an unusually large rock is always worth fishing. But there are concealed irregular features that will hold a lot more bass. On lakes, a small ditch or creek may run into the riprap and come to a stop. Usually, a bridge crosses a channel and there will be a culvert nearby on one side of the riprap foundation. This can be an outstanding spot. Vodafone Opens Mobile 3G to All
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Iain_Thomson]Iain Thomson Vodafone has released a USB stick that will allow laptop users without a PC card, such as Apple MacBooks, to use its 3G cards. Vodafone promise the new dongle will give download speeds of around 1.4Mbps and upload speeds of up to 384 Kbps, with a 1GB a month download limit. The company was the first to offer a 3G data card but all other network operators now have them as business use has climbed sharply and trials are now underway on a faster High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) service. "3G data card users and those involved in HSDPA trials highlight the liberating nature of the 'open the lid and connect' experience," said Dale Vile, research director at analyst house Freeform Dynamics. "All moves to make this available to a broader audience are welcome, and it is nice to see that the Mac community has not been forgotten as part of this. The 'plug and play' convenience factor of self-installing USB modems is in keeping with the hassle-free nature of cellular connectivity, which will also appeal to many Windows users". The company's service is available within the M25 area, the West Midlands, Glasgow, Liverpool, Sheffield, Greater Manchester, Bristol and Tyneside, with plans to reach 75 per cent of the UK population by summer 2007 Visit ITPRO.CO.UK to read Mobile & 3G Articles, reviews and News

Why Your Search for Pain Relief Needs a Strategy
By Ben Plumb If you're like most of us who have known chronic pain, you've tried one thing after another to ease your suffering. Here are three reasons why working with your subconscious and having a well-defined strategy may increase your chances of success. When you're in pain you're willing to try almost anything to ease it. So you end up tracing a zig-zag course from doctor to doctor, drug to drug and therapy to therapy. Hopefully you gain some relief from all this but most likely you don't gain nearly as much as you want or need. Having a clearly defined strategy offers advantages that may change your results for the better, particularly if you engage your subconscious mind as your partner in pain relief. The Role of Visualization Statements When creating your strategy, it's useful to consider including visualization statements as one of the components. Visualization statements represent the specific language that your subconscious wants you to read back to it to help ease your pain. Theyre simple and are targeted directly at the main factors that could bring you relief. You can obtain these statements by learning how to communicate directly with your own subconscious mind. The process is straightforward and can be done at home by working with a facilitator over the telephone. You you need no special skills and no previous experience in working with the subconscious. Here are three reasons why having a strategy makes sense: 1 A Strategy Allows You To Address The Complexity Of the Problem The process by which a pain signal is transmitted from the periphery of your body to the brain is highly complex. The signal is generated, relayed, modified and amplified at many different places that can be called pain leverage points. The first goal of pain relief is to interrupt the signal, or at the very least to reduce its frequency. You can try to do so at only one or two leverage points and it may work. But you have a higher chance of success if you use your subconscious to attack the signal pathway at many leverage points. The only way to do this is by having a clear strategy. The problem is too complex to address by a hit or miss methodology. 2 A Strategy Allows You To Choose Your Battles If the bad news is that the pain process is complicated, the good news is that not all of it may apply to you. Some of the pain leverage points may not matter in your case, while others may be crucially important to the transmission and amplification of the pain signal to your brain. By having a strategy that calls for you to use your subconscious to carefully inventory every leverage point, you give yourself the ability to focus your efforts where they most matter. For example, if you can identify three or four of the pain leverage points that most matter to your perception of pain, you can use visualization statements to attempt to reduce the signal at those points. 3 A Strategy Allows You To Take Ownership Of Your Situation Too often chronic pain leads to a loss of control. This can add a layer of emotional distress on top of your pain, actually making it seem worse. A strategy puts you in the driver's seat. It gives you an intelligent plan for dealing with your situation, one that your conscious mind understands and your subconscious may be able to use as a tool for reducing the pain signal. This builds a sense of self-confidence that in itself can help to ease pain. A Solid Value For the three reasons given above, having a strategy can bring you real value in your search for pain relief. Whatever components you put into that plan--therapies, drugs, specialists, and so on--is up to you. But the important thing is to have some kind of a strategy. As we've seen, visualization statements offer several benefits that may be able to make your strategy more effective: Scope. Visualization allows the subconscious to range freely over the pain leverage points. The subconscious may be able to address most or even all of them, while drugs, for example, may be currently available for only a few of them. Focus. Visualization can probably help the subconscious identify the leverage points that make the most difference in the transmission of pain signals to your cortex. This allows you to focus the subconscious on reducing the signal at the most critical junctures. Initiative. Visualization is a proactive process that you personally engage in to try to establish control over your pain. Unlike drugs and other therapies that are "done" to you, visualization allows you to take the initiative. This helps to reduce the sense of helplessness and build a feeling of self-confidence. This may be true regardless of whether you have back pain or pain in other extremities, arthritis pain, fibromyalgia pain, or neuropathic pain (nerve pain). Ben Plumb is CEO and President of The Visualization Group, Inc. The companys service is delivered by people like himself who personally suffered from years of chronic pain, and used the visualization method described in this article to obtain relief when nothing else worked. 4 Sales Strategies with Your Trade Show Exhibition Booth
By Patty Stripes Trade show booths can act as an excellent source for generating sales enquiries in the short run. Companies are able to demonstrate their products or services and get instant enquiries at the booth which on timely follow up can result in sales. Some of the tips on how to maximize the benefits of a trade show booth as a sales tool are mentioned below: 1. On-Spot promotion schemes: This is an age old trick which works well at trade shows. Firstly it makes the visitor stop at your booth for more than a few seconds. Secondly, a structured promotion method quickly puts the visitor through the benefits of the products (obviously in an attractive fashion) and then a decision making opportunity is thrown at the visitor introducing them to on the spot interesting offers. Offers can range from products sold on the spot at attractive pricing, free gifts with purchases, extended time period of services, lifetime warranty and the like. The more innovative the offer, more the likelihood of success. Assuming that the product and the promotion offering are attractive for the users, the on-spot promos can recover all costs of the trade show plus earn the company a healthy profit. Quick checks with the organizers need to be done before the event to ensure that onsite sales are permitted. 2. Get your customers to speak to the visitors: Admitted that this might be a bit tough to execute, but if you have a large enough trade show booth, then it might be an excellent idea to schedule live interaction sessions where you have satisfied customers promoting the product. This can have fantastic results in terms of sales enquiries generated at the event. A well known software company promoted the clients company during a well known industry trade show and developed content to display on how their software solution helped the customers business. This gimmick got the visitors to stop and take a look and interested visitors did take a seat and sit through the entire presentation. Needless to say, there is no better sales tool than satisfied customers. Should getting customers to the event not possible, you should try using client references on your display material for maximum impact. You would of course need to get permission from the clients to be able to put their names on to the display materials. 3. Free coffee anyone? : Some sales personnel might feel that giving away complimentary food and drink at a trade show booth is a waste of good money. They may very well be right. However, if you have a good prospect in front of you, the chances of stopping him a couple of minutes longer are increased with the opportunity of offering him a cup of steaming coffee. Another strange thing that happens at stands offering complimentary food or drink is that there is usually some people standing around the booth making it look busy. You will be surprised how people get attracted by seeing a busy trade show booth. It has something to with the human perspective of being attracted to crowds but does work to your advantage in a busy trade show. 4. Focused communication: Various steps taken towards focused communication at a trade show booth can enhance the chances of on spot sales and generation of genuine sales enquiries. Though this is mentioned in detail in another article, printed hand outs should be of good quality and carry all information about your product or service in a cohesive fashion. The fact that trade shows are effective can only be further confirmed by noting the increase in the number of trade shows in the past few years.
